At Expo Yaletown, you’re not rotating through strangers. Dr. Cornel Gabor, Dr. Mark Hamanishi, and Dr. Geoffrey Zieginson are a tight-knit team of highly trained, genuinely caring professionals who between them cover everything from routine care and complex implants to specialist-level orthodontics.
Dr. Cornel Gabor, General Dentist, graduated from McGill Dental School in 2010. He then moved to Vancouver to complete a one-year General Practice Residency at UBC, where he further trained in sedation, surgery, and provided care to underprivileged communities in BC and abroad.
Dr. Gabor strives for high quality work and is always trying to improve himself by staying current with new techniques and technologies. He attends numerous continuing education courses and focuses on dental extractions, implants and crown and bridge. He is an active member of the Canadian Association of Restorative Dentistry and Prosthodontics (CARDP).
He strives to provide patients with the highest standard of care and an overall heightened patient experience here at your Yaletown dental clinic. When he is not at the office, Dr. Gabor enjoys playing tennis, going to the gym, fixing his boat and, above all, spending time with his daughter.
Dr. Mark grew up in Surrey and earned his undergraduate degree in Nutritional Sciences from UBC. He then moved to Boston where he received his DMD from Boston University and then to Pittsburgh where he completed his Orthodontic specialization at the University of Pittsburgh. He enjoyed a 6-year adventure practicing in Calgary, AB before moving back home to BC.
After several years approaching Orthodontics from all facets, Dr. Mark has spent the past 5 years focusing his Orthodontic skillset on clear aligner therapy for all ages and he treats hundreds of complex malocclusions each year using Invisalign®. Two years ago, he started his own Invisalign® mentoring company where he uses his expertise to remotely guide general dentists in the treatment of their own patients.
Dr. Mark tries to balance out his nerdiness in the office by trying to play golf (keyword- ‘trying’), running (he’s even run a marathon), and playing soccer (he’s no CR7, but played throughout his childhood and into University).
Dr. Geoffrey Zieginson, originally from Saskatchewan, earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) with Distinction from the University of Saskatchewan in 2007. He is passionate about gentle dental care and works closely with patients to create low-stress, supportive appointments. He believes communication and partnership are essential to excellent dentistry. With anxious patients, he works collaboratively to help them feel safe, supported, and empowered throughout their care.
Children are among his favorite patients to treat. He finds working with kids enormously rewarding and takes great satisfaction in helping them feel comfortable and confident in the dental chair.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Zieginson enjoys singing, practicing yoga, and writing both fiction and non-fiction.
